The Millie Dunbar Resource Library was started in the winter of 2010 by Pastor Talbert W. Swan, II. The library was named for longtime activist and supporter, Mildred N. Dunbar and was dedicated during the 2010 African American Heritage Celebration. It began with several boxes of books donated by Millie Dunbar and has grown to hundreds of volumes.
Not only has the collection grown, so has the group of people we serve. The library includes patrons from inside and outside our church family:. In addition, the library is an integral part of our after school tutoring program for local youth.
Our library provides a variety of media for you and your family, including: books (fiction and non-fiction), videos, DVDs, audio books, music CDs and Bible study series. New items are being added on a weekly basis. We have something for every age group and interest. The majority of these items present a Christ-centered world view, designed to help you and your family, in your day to day walk, as you strive to become more like Christ.
