Rev. Talbert W. Swan, II was ordained to the Gospel Ministry on August 15, 1991 by Bishop L.C. Young. He sered as youth minister at the Holy Temple Church Of God In Christ, Springfield, MA and as associate minister at the Spring of Hope Church Of God In Christ before founding the Solid Rock Church Of God In Christ in 1994.
Pastor Talbert W. Swan, II was called to the Gospel ministry at a young age. Born and raised in the Church Of God In Christ, Pastor Swan has been active in the church all of his life. He was educated at the University of Massachusetts and Western New England College, where his undergraduate studies were in computer science. In addition to a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Pastor Swan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Charter Oak State College, a Master of Theology from International Theological Seminary and a Master of Arts in Urban Ministry from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. He also holds Graduate Certificates in Urban Ministries and Faith-Based Economic Development from Hartford Seminary and Harvard Divinity School respectively. Pastor Swan is a two-term member of the Alumni Council at Hartford Seminary, a member of the Black Alumni Council of the Harvard Divinity School and the former National Chaplain for Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. Currently Pastor Swan serves under Bishop Bryant Robinson, Jr., prelate of the Greater Massachusetts Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, Church of God in Christ as the Chief of Staff and Executive Secretary. He serves the National Church of God in Christ as the Assistant General Secretary for Administration.
Pastor Swan led the congregation of Solid Rock Church Of God In Christ from 1994 until 2009, when Solid Rock and Spring of Hope merged. Under Pastor Swan's leadership the church has grown numerically and spiritually. The church operates numerous ministries including, school partnerships, radio and television ministries to name a few.
Pastor Swan is the author of four books, a radio talk show host and a columnist for the African American Point of View Newspaper. He travels extensively and preaches at various congregations around the country. |
